Painting Commissions Undertaken

Ralph would be pleased to take Commissions, if the artwork currently in his gallery is not quite what you are looking for.

For example, you may be looking for an artwork which will enhance an existing space, for a gift or special occasion, or which will meet your own requirements.

Please contact Ralph to discuss what you had in mind.

An example of the development of a Commission is this:

Music Movement and Life by Ralph TaylorMusic Movement and Life was carried out for somebody with a love of music and singing.  In size, shape and palette it had to fit an identified space.

Before Ralph delivered the work to the commissioner, he placed an image of it (right) on this web-site.

Following installation of the work, the commissioner wrote to him:

"The piece now 'dances' in my home, eliciting a different response from me with each glance in it's direction. The colours are intense and vibrant and for me personally, reflect the artist.

Thanks Ralph, this work [is] a personal gift to me."

Lets Go Walkabout by Ralph TaylorSome time later another person saw the image of the work on this web-site. He contacted me and was sorry to hear that the work had been sold.  However, after discussion, a similar, though not identical, work was commissioned. The commissioner's space was larger so a more expansive work was required.  An image of the result: Lets Go Walkabout, an Abstract  is above.

The commissioner wrote:

"I had been looking for a piece of original art for quite a while and had viewed countless galleries. Ralph's 'Music Movement and Life' seemed to jump out at me - the only problem being that he had sold it to someone else. Not to be put off, I contacted Ralph to see if he had anything in a similar vein and ended up commissioning a piece (nicknamed 'Walkabout'). That was a new experience for me.

We all love this piece and Ralph was a delight to work with (actually he did all the work). Ralph, your work has proven popular with friends and family alike. Many Thanks"

Dave the Domino Man by Ralph TaylorRalph's exceptional talent allows him to paint Portraits from printed photographs - either those you already have or those which, if you wish, he can take himself.

In one recent instruction, the commissioner emailed Ralph a copy of the photograph from which she wished a portrait to be created.  The result was Eileen.

Ralph captured 'Dave the Domino Man' with a camera in a moblile phone, at a moment unexpected to Dave.  Ralph then painted Dave's portrait (above right) from the captured image.

Pet Portraits can be undertaken in the same way.  Examples include Domino and Ralph's own dog, Damon.

Ralph can supply:- acrylic landscape paintings, acrylic seascape paintings, acrylic abstract paintings, acrylic still life paintingspastel seascape paintings, pastel still life paintings, pastel  portrait paintings, pastel animal paintings and pastel landscape paintings.  If you have a favourite place or picture and a preferred medium contact Ralph to discuss him painting it for you. Many of the paintings on the site have come from just such requests. As you will see from the site the above is far from an exhaustive list.
